My First Sunset in 2010

The sky was like on fire
(There is NO PhotoShop in any of these pictures!)

Looking out from the backyard the sky was colored in deep red clouds

My first sunset photos in 2010 - made on New Years Day

Palm trees in Black & White

It was a gray and cloudy day, barely sunshine.... I went to the beach to shoot some pictures in black & white.
They look much better then they would look in color.

Sorry, that you have to keep up with palm trees again, but I think they belong to paradise like the pine trees to the rolling hills on other places.

And I love palm trees!

Deep Blue

This was our sunset yesterday, just a deep blue sky and dark gray clouds, that's it!

Yes, we have more than palm trees...

We have also the best sunsets in the world - the tourist guides are writing that, not me!

And for the most, I like the pictures after sunset when the whole sky turns into a deep red, purple or gold. It looks like fire in the sky.

Different Palms than at home

Palms in sunset light on Honeymoon Island, Florida

Palms and cows around Lake Ochechobee, Florida

Palms and the beach on King George's Island, Florida

On my travels in Florida I have seen that the palm trees come in many different types then down on my island where I'm living. But they are all majestic, I love these trees.

Turquoise Sea

It's hot again in paradise - this is the perfect day to go to the beach and have a swim in the turquoise ocean - wish you were here?

The "Blue Lagoon"...

This is one of my favorite pictures and one of my best sellers at the pier, where I'm putting up my little booth (almost) every night - selling my photography to the tourists from all over the world.

I call it "The Blue Lagoon" and you will find these inviting place at Smather's Beach on the Atlantic side.

Over the Rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow

Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

Five Sunsets to watch in Key West - Series 8

The sun decided to set behind the clouds - what left is that radiant red sky.

To enjoy a sunset together is much mor fun and it gives you that romantic feeling.

A catamaran is on the way home to the harbor after this majestic sunset.

The last reflections of another island sunset.

Sailing away into a breathtaking sunset light.

A Visit to the Dry Tortugas - Series 6

Take a ride with this small airplane for visiting the Dry Tortugas Islands or catch the Ferry early in the morning.

This picture is the view from the top of Fort Jefferson and it gives me a feeling of eternity, peace and freedom: only blue water, clouds and horizon where ever your eyes are looking around.

After a very intresting guided tour in Fort Jefferson, take a walk on the walls all around the fort and enjoy nature, sunshine and the blue color of the water. You also will see many snorklers enjoying the crystal clear underwater scene.

It's just a perfect day out there - another part of paradise!

The white sandbar is the bird sanctuary across from Fort Jefferson.

Five things to do in Key West - Tour 4

Today we are visiting the wildlife of Key West. Yes, we have one...! Take your camera and follow me:

You will see the big white Heron bird fishing in the mangroves....

You will discover a typically - lazy - cat on Simonton Street....

You will meet the sophisticated cats - some with six toes - in the garden of Ernest Hemingway's house...

Please don't disturb this pelican at Mallory Square....

And you will be wondering why are all over and every where you go so many roosters and his chickens around you. Many, many, many years ago they used them for fights. No more today. Since then they are wild living and took over the island.

Official Start of Hurrican Season was 1. of June

That was yesterday! We had a dark, windy and rainy start of Hurrican Season 2007. Later in the day the weather man was announcing this all as tropical storm "Barry". Today the sun is back again in paradise - and every one is happy - of course.

And this is a old picture I made a half hour befor Hurrican Dennies came over Key West, in 2005. You can see how some people really enjoyed the waves at Whitehead Pier - it's like getting a free shower.

Intresting Cloud Formations

I still like to look up to the clouds to see all kind of shapes, colors and even faces. As a kid I have seen often whole stories - in my fantasy of course - in the clouds and started also to interact with them. I guess I must had back then a lot more fantasy and imaginations, something what we are loosing more and more when we are getting older.... Let's look up more again to the sky, let's train your imaginations and tell me what you'll see!
