Two Different Worlds

The Majesty of the Seas is leaving Port Canaveral, Florida

Majesty of the Seas
is a Sovereign-class cruise ship owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International. She was built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyards in
Saint-Nazaire, France, and placed in service on April 26, 1992.
Her Godmother is Queen Sonja Of Norway.

Her features include the line-trademark Viking Crown Lounge overlooking the pool and sun decks. The ship has an onboard casino and 11 passenger elevators, two of which are glass-walled. Onboard bars include the Schooner Bar, A Touch of Class Champagne Bar, Blue Skies Lounge, Boleros latin bar, On Your Toes Nightclub, Windjammer Café, and the Pool Bar. There are also two swimming pools, two hot tubs, a basketball court, and a rock climbing wall.

And the opposite to the picture above is this shrimp boat going out to the deep water just before sunset at Port Canaveral

Hi my friends,
Thank you very much for your visits to my blog yesterday and for all the kind comments.
Have a very happy weekend!

On our last cruise

Old and young, we are all on our last cruise.
~Robert Louis Stevenson~

Hello my friends,
I love the quote I've found to this photo I have captured recently at Port Canaveral.
The quote is short, easy to understand and so true!

I wish you a wonderful day on your last cruise!
Susanne

Well, for probably the last time:
I have some CALENDARS 2010 more left.
It's your last chance to grab one. Thanks!

Life on housboat row

In the back of the picture you can see many of the houseboats where people are living in, close to the Garrison Bight Marina.

I see a Boat.....

I see a boat on the river
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean
Where to, I can't say
Boat on the river
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean
Where to I can't say

I waited for him
Such a very long time
Don't know what for
'Cause I should have known
When he left on that boat
We'll meet no more

Boat on the river
You're bound for the sea
If you should find him
Please great him from me.

There were people who came
And said it's really a shame
Why did he take off
To follow just a dream
But I guess they were wrong
In life you're sailing along
And this thing don't turn out
As simple as they seem.

I see a boat on the river
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean
Where I can't say.

Water Reflections

I like this little poem and I think it matches very well the idea about a unknown boat and its reflection in the water:

Sailboat, rowboat, motor boat, too.
Moving through the waters so clear and blue.
Tugboat, lifeboat, kayak and canoe
With so many types of boats,
Which one will you choose?

Award Winning Photograph

This is one of my award winning pictures in a competition from AGFA Germany, back in 2001. The 3rd prize was a digital camera - my very first one.
Today I have two digital NIKON's (mostly used for weddings) and of course I kept still "my good old" SLR 35 mm NIKON F3.

Just another Sunset in Paradise

It's just another simple and wonderful sunset - seen at Mallory Square, where I'm selling my photography to tourists from all over the world. They come every evening down to the pier to see and to celebrate this spectacular sensation. This is the only place I know of where you can combine your work with a lot of fun.

Five Things to do in Key West - Series 7

Today we will visit the historical harbor of Key West where all the sunset cruisers and many privat boats are anchored. The sculpture in the front shows a wrecker looking out to the water to see if there are some unsuspecting ships to loot.

Here is the AIDS-Memorial at Whitehead Pier remembering all those who have died from this illness.

It's Happy-Hour at Louie's Backyard!

At "Dog Beach" is the only place in Key West where you can take a swim with your four-legged friend.

And enjoy on the way back home all these beautiful homes, like this one on Southard Street.

This is how it looks each morning in the harbor at Tarpon Springs: new sponges have arrived on the boats and they will be now inspected, cleaned and prepared. A long process before you can use them for your luxurious bath.

This is the sunset schooner, called "America", going out for a sunset cruise - but it has been gone now for a few months. I don't know the exact reason for that, but I'm missing this majestic looking sailing vessel.

The schooner is back in the harbor, the sailes are rolled in, it is waiting for tomorrows new adventures out in the ocean. It's like coming home after a hard working day in a safe place, isn't it?

After many years of hard work this old shrimpboat is retired and now it has a lot of time to watch all the sunsets, listening to the birds screeching for food. I'm sure this oldtimer could tell you many exciting stories.
