Everybody knows...

Street decoration in Cocoa Village - I love this idea how they tell people what time of the year it is :)

Only the knife knows what goes on in the heart of a pumpkin.

Natural goodies from the Farmer's Market in the village

Everybody know, it's fall.... it's pumpkin time!
Pie, pie, pie....I love pie!

Hi my friends,
We took a ride to Cocoa Village the last day and it was worth it. There was a Farmer's Market and a lot of pretty scenes. The village itself is a "bijoux" - a gem! I'll show you some pictures about later.

Thank you ALL for your wonderful comments to my post(s).

Ideas are like pizza dough, made to be tossed around.

Hi my friends,
Thanks again for all the wonderful comments to my ZEN photo from yesterday, so happy you liked that one so much :)

We took recently a stroll trough Melbourne's Down Town, a very pretty and picturesque place, cute and colorful architecture, nice coffee shops, some bars and also some galleries. There is something interesting and funny to see and to find for every one.
In the next some days I'll show you more photos I've made on that afternoon. This picture of the bar stools in front of the Pizza delivery place is one of them.
I hope you'll enjoy!
Have a nice day  - and see you tomorrow?

As one of the oldest community...

The entrance to the port of Fort Pierce,FL

with all the beautiful yachts and fishing boats lined up

About Fort Pierce

As one of the oldest communities on the east coast of Florida, Fort Pierce has borne witness to the changing tides of history - as well as the changing tides of the Atlantic Ocean - for over 104 years. The days of one-room log houses and quiet river commerce has given way to diverse possibilities as the city has grown to over 41,000 residents, but the echoes of the rural past can still be felt in the peaceful quality of the lives our residents lead just a short distance from the hustle and bustle of both West Palm Beach and Orlando. Ours is a diverse yet neighborly community, embracing both the richness of our heritage and the promise of the future in St. Lucie County Downtown, within sight of the timeless waters of the Indian River Lagoon, affords our residents contemporary shopping, dining and a range of entertainment and activities.

Modern educational and research facilities, like top-ranked Indian River Community College, the $6 million Smithsonian Institution Research Center, the Manatee Observation and Education Center and Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, live in harmony with the completely renovated 1925 City Hall and the current restoration of the historic, 1,200 seat Sunrise Theatre, which will serve as a regional performing arts center.

The community's vision for the future captures our rich, colorful history and blends it - beautifully - into the spirit of modern life.

Hi my friends,

the pictures above are made at the harbor in Fort Pierce, Florida. I've enjoyed that afternoon there doing some photos. As an artist myself and hubby too, we have also visited the Backus-Museum there by the waterfront. Photos about that visit will be online tomorrow. So, come back tomorrow to see the art in the park.

And thank you for all your wonderful comments from yesterday :)

See you tomorrow,

I'm a Big Cat Lover

Cats know how to obtain food without labor,

shelter without confinement,

and love without penalties.

~ W. L. George ~

Hi my friends,

I'm a big cat lover! I had 4 cats sharing their life with me in my house.

And down in Key West I had 2 cat families with 6 and 8 kitties (each) under neat the house. That was fun to see them grow - and always a big excitement - for the cats - to feed them :) I just love cats!

Thank you so much for the lovely comments to my post from yesterday, I knew it, you'll like the collage from Mount Dora :)

184 feet above sea level in Florida

Mount Dora evokes that quiet and comfortable “Southern” charm and hospitality of a lakefront community nestled amongst the gentle hills and orange groves of Central Florida. At an elevation of 184 feet above sea level, Mount Dora is Florida’s equivalent of a mountain top town. Whether you are looking for a respite from the pressures of life and seek solitude overlooking our beautiful vistas, or you desire active shopping and recreation to compliment our many festivals and community events, you can find it all in Mount Dora.

Sunset over country side on the way back home

Hy my friends,

yesterday I had my first day feeling good again. We decided to take a ride in country side and we have visited Mount Dora, located some minutes outside of Orlando. Mount Dora is a very pretty, very picturesque and arty town and is overlooking a beautiful lake. I made of course some photos and I'll show them to you in sequences. I hope you'll enjoy like I did :)

Stay tuned, I'll be back tomorrow, see you soon. Thank you also for all the "get well" wishes and kind comments on my last post.

I don't know exactly where I fit in....

I feel like I've never had a home, you know? I feel related to the country, to this country, and yet I don't know exactly where I fit in... There's always this kind of nostalgia for a place, a place where you can reckon with yourself.

Sam Shepard

People say, the queen of all flowers is the rose! And this beauty queen I have captured in the rose garden of the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida.

There were very dark clouds looming in the sky on this particular afternoon because of an upcoming storm in the Everglades. Behind the wall of clouds formed a round white one that really looked like a UFO, doesn't it?.....maybe it was.....!

Two Roosters

Available in:
8" x 10" - $ 45.00 Buy with PayPal
11" x 14" - $ 75.00 Buy with PayPal
Larger sizes can be made on request
In my post yesterday I promised to tell the story about the roosters in Key West. Well,... back in the last century, when the Cuban people came to Key West, they brought with them not only all the houshold goods, there were also chickens and roosters on the boats. The roosters were sometimes used for cock fights in the backyards. Since these fights were made illegal, the roosters were released and are now running wild all over the island and their population keeps growing day by day.

Every day I do enjoy looking at my big oleander tree in my yard. For me these flowers always represent the warm summer in the south. Here in Key West they are blooming all year long.
